Class Descriptions
Gentle Yoga –
This is a class where we start where you are now. We do gentle yoga poses, helping you to gently move your body with your breath, building strength, releasing tension, and allowing you to relax deeply. We will pay special attention to your hips and lower back, shoulders, wrists, and fingers. If you have injuries (like a sore back), excessive stress, sleep issues, or anxiety, you will benefit from this class. You will be given options for each of the poses to make this YOUR yoga, to fit YOUR body. We suggest options, you choose the intensity.
Remember, experience is not required. Join the class at any time.

Chair Yoga -
In this class we use the chair to help you gently move your body with your breath, building strength, releasing tension, and allowing you to relax deeply. If you have mobility issues, have an injury, have knee or feet issues, lack the ability to go from standing to seated to lying down positions, or haven't moved much, this class can help you. You will be given options for each of the poses to make this YOUR yoga, to fit YOUR body. We suggest options, you choose the intensity.
Note: A four-legged chair without wheels is required. Arm rests can get in the way and are not recommended. However, if you feel you need them, then feel free to use them.
Meditation for Beginners (offered in fall sessions)
You will learn what meditation is, what it is not, and how to do it. This practice can have long-lasting benefits in our lives, but everyone is different and can feel the effects in different ways. Some ways meditation can help us include lower our stress levels, help with our focus and concentration, help us live mindfully, in the present moment, and build self-confidence. It could also have health benefits including reducing anxiety attacks, depression, or insomnia, and help regulate blood pressure as it increases blood flow and slows the heart rate. Come and see what it will do for you. This is a 6 week course.
